Hi, I'm Nik, in my early 30s from Heidelberg, and I'm looking for musical connections with the goal of starting my own project/band. Musically, I move somewhere between post-punk, new wave, indie rock, and power pop – with a strong love for atmosphere, catchy melodies, but also raw, unpolished sounds. Current influences range from classics like Joy Division, OMD, and The Cure to more recent acts like Wunderhorse, Nation of Language, Castelbea, Ex-Vöid, and Brigitte Calls Me Baby. At the same time, I'm very open to combining these styles with others, as long as it feels inspiring. I'm constantly searching for new sounds – most recently, for example, I immersed myself in Candombe rock and jazz from Latin America during an extended stay in Uruguay. I originally come from a guitar background (lead instrument), but for some time now I've been increasingly involved with electric bass, synths, and songwriting, including vocals. Ideally, I'd like to organically develop all these bedroom ideas into real songs, creating new sounds and compositions to bring something unique to life. I'm a fan of analog gear and hands-on music-making without a lot of screen time – but I also want to delve deeper into DAWs and their advantages for recording and arrangement. I have some band experience, though it's a few years back, in the skate punk and rock scene. For me, it's not just about jamming and experimenting, but about building something together with character and attitude – from initial demos to finished tracks and, in the long run, gigs. If this resonates with you and you'd like to start something together, or just get to know each other and make music in a relaxed setting: feel free to get in touch 🙂
