I mainly write program music for events, performances, theater, etc. After years of covering songs from the 60s and 90s, I just had enough. Not that it wasn't fun, on the contrary, I would never have had the luck with very well-known groups from that time to play on big stages. However, I now only see the point in covering if you create your own version. The musician's own life must be preserved. You have to be able to express your feelings yourself. The great thing about performances etc. is that every musical genre is a lot of fun and you don't have to commit yourself to it. As is the case with film music, for example. You can achieve a lot and there is a lot of joy in playing and playing meaning behind it.
