ambra sorrentino Harpist

Ambra Sorrentino is a harpist and theater manager from Italy. As CEO and founder of Opera Co-Pro, the first global marketplace for theater producers to trade productions and build international partnerships, she was named BEST CEO for the UK in 2020 and 2022. The company has also received awards from Amazon and Google. Ambra is also an expert member of the European Commission for Culture. She has been a visiting professor of theater management at Sorbonne University in Paris, the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, the Catholic University of Milan, LUMSA Rome, the University of Salerno, and the Camerata Bardi Opera Studio in New York. Since 2021, she has been the Director of Business Development for the Athens Philharmonic and the Marketing Director for the London Performing Academy of Music. A former artistic advisor to the Teatro Grattacielo in New York, she was head of the artistic department of the Allee Theatres -Hamburger Kammeroper and previously worked for the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, the Puccini Festival, the Leipzig Opera and the Stadttheater Ingolstadt, where she organized the 2024 Bavarian Theater Days. She often sits on juries for singing competitions, such as "Let's Sing" at the Bulgarian National Opera in Sofia, "Vincerò" (Milan, Rome, Athens, Munich, London, Vienna, Zurich), Maria Caniglia, NYIOPS, The Opera Stage, National Opera Studio London, Fabbrica Opera di Roma. Recent projects include Handel's La Partenope at the Teatro Manuel in Malta, the world premiere of Donizetti's Dalinda at the Berlin Konzerthaus and Baxter Theater in Cape Town and the sold-out world premiere of the musical Callas & Onassis. As a harpist, she performs regularly both as a soloist and in ensembles. Venues and events include: Teatro Augusteo and Teatro Verdi in Salerno, Teatro San Babila in Milan, Fulham Opera London, St Clement Danes Covent Garden London, Italian Cultural Institute London, Le porte dell'arte in Pompei, Giffoni Film Festival, University of Bayreuth and Paola International Chamber music festival in 2007 and 2010, where she won a prize for chamber music duo with cello. She successfully completed her studies in Fine Arts, Music and Performing Arts at the University of Salerno and holds a Master's degree in Economics and Management of Performing Arts from the Catholic University of Milan. In October 2014 she completed her Master's diploma in harp at the Conservatorio di Musica "G. Martucci" in Salerno with Lucia Di Sapio. She also studied composition with the internationally renowned Lucia Ronchetti. She improved her harp skills under the guidance of Emmanuel Ceysson (MET, Los Angeles, Opera de Paris), Julien Marcou (Opéra de Paris), Elisabeth Fontan-Binoche, Park Stickney (jazz harp), Sara Simari, Luc Bergè and Georg Beckmann, Monika Fröhlich, Martin Loritz, Mayumi Kamata, Karin Wolf (chamber music).
