Hi!
I've been making music for decades, especially very dedicatedly and enthusiastically as a drummer, sometimes as a percussionist or keyboardist, and more recently as a producer. Everything is extremely passionate, but part-time, so no pressure for money! What I feel like doing is done (little by little, because unfortunately I only have time for music every now and then for 12 hours a day...). My weekends tend to always be busy, which is stupid if you want to play live often. In fact, at the moment I probably can't do more than one gig/every two months! During the week I usually have more time and really like fairly regular rehearsals/meetings in the rehearsal room with nice people/good musicians/my band to make music and work on material. I'm also happy to simply spend the evenings (or mornings) with the hottest pastime imaginable - making music - and to grow together as a sound body and get something going, and also to work on material, productions or studies in a very concrete way to work and to get results quickly. So, I want to say, both are important to me!
Since I earn my living with other stuff, I prefer to keep too much stress and pressure to achieve results away from my music world. What I mostly need is contact with pleasant people who have their instrument and music with them in their lives, are up for a band and projects, recordings, productions and occasional gigs, who groove, fly, tinker, get tight, who Find the right tones and the right sound. With high demands, but as little pressure as possible. My job and my teenager trump music (when the going gets tough) when in doubt...
My band Boolooloop (bass, guitar, drums) rehearses in our cozy rehearsal room near Treptower Park, but recently took a short, indefinite break from work... This break could be used at any time for a session with another instrument (keys? brass?) , a voice or maybe even record scratches or loop station fiddling or something like that can be interrupted (and maybe even stopped)! However, as long as the creative break lasts, bass players would also be happy to be invited as guests! I also like to visit somewhere else as a drummer and be the guest myself!
I like all kinds of music and I prefer diversity that is difficult to describe than clear loyalty to style. I like to groove, I find jazzy feeling and Latin grooves cool, I like to send out flashy hip-hop beats or totally poppy RnB rhythms, break beats, disco-funk, heavy stoner rock, and I also like reggae, surfing. , Ska, or punk beats and I don't know what else, I really like it all. Sometimes with fiddly, playful, perhaps humorous escapades, sometimes totally clichéd, and with no superfluous tone too much. On the whole, I'm not a big fan of the industrial sound and the cold, depressive android attitude of the 80s, of very hard, violent music styles and, on the other hand, of too much schmaltzy, schmaltz and sentimentalism.
