About
I've been a musician since 1986. Starting as a drummer in a marching band at age five, I began piano lessons at sixteen. Twenty years of marching and concert music shaped my childhood and adolescence. This led to my melodic beginnings, which expanded to include the flute, marimba, and more. In my mid-twenties, I taught myself bass and played in a crossover band. Multi-instrumentalism became my passion: drums, bass, flute (from pan, transverse flute, block flute, and saxophone). As I got older, I gradually made the piano and keyboard my main instruments. My extensive experience in rhythm, melody, and bass accompaniment helped me develop versatility. In my personal life, I've listened to electronic music (drum & bass, house, tech) as well as hip hop, soul, R&B, blues, jazz, funk, and more since my youth. Radiohead, Herbie Hancock, U2, Coldplay, Fink, Prodigy, Alicia Keys, Fred again..., Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, Shigeto, Bhoddy Satva, Florence and the Machine, Tom Day, El Buho, Rodrigo Gallardo, and many more are my inspirations. So, Afrobeat, electro, rap, experimental, and house music are my world. Today, I'm part of an improvisation band that I founded with Thiemo over 15 years ago, and we're still constantly reinventing ourselves. New instruments are added, I create new sounds, and I want to solidify this and maybe even release it someday.
