I live with and for music and my students keep me intellectually and personally afloat, even in times when there are few gigs.

I once chose keyboard instruments because of their versatility, and I still stand by them today. However, you have less weight to carry with the flute... hahaha...

R&B and Caribbean music are my favorites. Pop and moody music are a favorite. Rock and roll have been a lifelong influence. Since I didn't study music, I really enjoy sound combinations and continually recognize beautiful, graceful aspects of music. This development is constantly evolving as I'm fascinated by things that I can then analyze and practice. My students, with their musical requests, are a source of fascination and inspiration. I'm happy to pass all of this on, and my repertoire is constantly growing, so that with a good 3,000 titles, I'm still collecting them. If there's a need, I even write one or two methods myself for my students.

Biking, camping, crafting, gardening, making jam, following world events, especially international politics and economic events (economic and cultural axes).
