I am, as ever, desperately hopeful — which is, of course, the most dangerous condition a person in Berlin can be in.

I sing. Not well enough to be famous, not badly enough to be interesting as a failure.

I am looking for people who understand that atmosphere is not decoration but the whole point.

Joy Division. The Smiths. New Order. Velvet Underground. And everything that learned from them how to sound like longing with a backbeat.

I need: a guitarist who owns more feelings than pedals (though pedals are welcome) a bassist who plays as though the low end is the only honest register a drummer who knows when not to play (this is rarer than talent) keys, if you carry them lightly

I offer: lyrics. melody. an unhealthy relationship with early Factory Records. Rehearsals without ego, gigs without delusion — at least, not too much of either.

If you have spent years waiting for the right people rather than the right moment, then perhaps the moment is now somewhat overdue.
