About
Bruno Siegfried Nimtz de Verichon was born in 1956 in Hamburg Bergedorf. At the age of 4 he was fascinated by classical music, which he first heard on the radio. He learned to play the recorder, sang in his church's children's choir, and learned to play the piano and violin. At the age of 11 he became a member of the Bergedorf boys' choir "Billespatzen". After his voice broke, he joined the church choir and from the age of 15 he played the violin in various school and amateur orchestras. At the age of 11 he began to compose, took private lessons in singing and music theory, and at the age of 18 began studying Protestant church music with a major in organ and choir conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Hamburg, which he completed in 1979. Even during his studies he focused on composition and singing. He composed actively until 1994, but after his engagement as an opera singer at the Hamburg State Opera in 1983, he only did so sporadically. Only since his retirement has he worked actively as a composer again. Some of his youthful compositions, such as "5 Pieces and Finale for String Orchestra Op. 1" and "Small Dance Suite for a School Orchestra Op. 5" were successfully premiered, but his style has continued to develop until he has now found a completely new musical language.
