About
Yeah! I've been playing drums for 25 years and I write songs (both metal and rap beats – though I keep the two separate). My band is called "VIJERIAH" (currently inactive live) and we're working on an album (9 songs, just a few minor guitar parts missing here and there), but we don't have any other parts available. So I'm looking for musicians to play guitar for my rhythm metal project "TRACHEA" and add their own personal touch – we're missing things like whammy effects, bends, harmonics, dive bombs – anything that makes the playing sound more vibrant and that I can't replicate with programmed guitars, or even program at all. Plus, my "drum" guitars sound too static. I play rhythms on my Ibanez RG 2228, but I'm far from having the skills to play my own written parts. The current nine songs are mostly written and presentable, but still need some fine-tuning. If things develop, they can be rewritten together. What's important is a shared musical understanding and enthusiasm for the style. I'll handle the vocals; my primary focus is on the musical realization of my written pieces. A live performance (i.e., a traditional 'band') isn't planned. My influences (a selection of favorite bands) include: Meshuggah, Vildhjarta, Periphery, Car Bomb/Neck, Structures, Diamond Construct, TesseracT, The Tony Tapdance Extravaganza, After The Burial, Doomsday Mourning, Emmure, Hunt The Dinosaur, Animals As Leaders, Glass Cloud, Volumes, Dead Crown, Half Me, Thornhill, and Vianova. Among the best progressive metal producers I currently consider are Buster Odeholm and Nolly Getgood. I've been rapping for 20 years, passionately, as a form of self-therapy, and I value a high level of technical skill. I also do vocal editing and video editing. There are some videos and songs on www.youtube.com/giftig and on Soundcloud (/esistgit). After years of musical inactivity, more songs will follow the recent release of "Antiserum" as Gift, and they're already fully produced. I could use some help with my social media presence and music marketing. Cheers, Tim // GIFT
