Self-taught, I started playing a washboard with a skiffle more than thirty years ago. I also bought a drum kit and continued drumming in the New Orleans jazz genre, with a preference for the jazzy Mardi Gras or marching style. In order to broaden my horizons, I reoriented myself years later. As a percussionist, I approached the more modern jazz standards, jazz rock, bossa, latin, salsa, etc. in various bands. Unfortunately, the pandemic situation that occurred in 2020 let the air escape from many ongoing music projects, so that as a compromise over many months, only that Jamming over the Internet (JAMULUS) remained or remains. At the same time, this is often surprisingly great, because you can meet top-class musicians there - even if only acoustically. On the other hand, of course, the salt in the soup is missing: direct human, musical encounters, musical communication. I'm not a purist, but it just has to groove. I enjoy playing in both large and small ensembles. "I like music even when it's loud", but also when it's quiet! Dynamism is announced.
