Spielfreude is an international power metal band, inspired by fast, catchy European power metal with retro game sounds and 90s / early-2000s culture.
After being paused for several years due to the pandemic and other circumstances, we are now preparing to restart the band.
We already have guitar and bass members involved, and we are currently looking for the right vocalist.
What we are looking for:
A clear, warm, melodic high-tone voice
We are looking for a bright and expressive voice rather than a rough or husky style. Something in the classic European power metal tradition — in the direction of singers like Michael Kiske — would be close to what we have in mind.
Respect for written vocal melodies
Our songs are composed with specific vocal melodies in mind, so we are looking for a vocalist who can bring those melodies to life with emotion, power, and tasteful phrasing. Natural expression, small variations, and vocal personality are welcome, but the core melodies are an important part of the songwriting.
Remote recording
Communication and recording will mainly be done remotely, so the ability to record vocals from your own setup is important.
Interest in power metal
Experience in a power metal band is not required, but genuine interest in the genre is important.
90s / early-2000s culture and retro game music
Appreciation for retro game music, especially the SNES / NES / Game Boy era, and 90s / early-2000s culture would be very welcome, but it is not mandatory.
Future live shows / tours in Europe
Europe is planned to be the main base for future live shows and tours. Being based in Europe would be ideal, but vocalists from other regions are also welcome as long as traveling to Europe for future shows is realistic.
We are also open to hearing from drummers who might be interested in Spielfreude for future live shows and tours. Finding a drummer is not as urgent as finding the right vocalist, but we would like to connect with the right person early.

Spielfreude ist eine internationale Power-Metal-Band, inspiriert von schnellem, eingängigem europäischen Power Metal, Retro-Game-Sounds und der Kultur der 90er- und frühen 2000er-Jahre.
Nach einer längeren Pause aufgrund der Pandemie und anderer Umstände bereiten wir nun den Neustart der Band vor.
Gitarrist und Bassist sind bereits dabei, und aktuell suchen wir den passenden Sänger oder die passende Sängerin.
Was wir suchen:
Eine klare, warme, melodische High-Tone-Stimme
Wir suchen eher eine helle, ausdrucksstarke Stimme als einen rauen oder heiseren Gesangsstil. Eine Stimme in der klassischen europäischen Power-Metal-Tradition — ungefähr in Richtung von Sängern wie Michael Kiske — würde gut zu unserer Vorstellung passen.
Respekt für ausgearbeitete Gesangsmelodien
Unsere Songs werden mit konkreten Gesangslinien komponiert. Deshalb suchen wir jemanden, der diese Melodien mit Emotion, Kraft und geschmackvollem Phrasing zum Leben erwecken kann. Natürlicher Ausdruck, kleine Variationen und eine eigene stimmliche Persönlichkeit sind willkommen, aber die Kernmelodien sind ein wichtiger Teil des Songwritings.
Remote Recording
Kommunikation und Aufnahmen werden hauptsächlich online bzw. remote stattfinden. Daher ist es wichtig, dass du Gesang mit deinem eigenen Setup aufnehmen kannst.
Interesse an Power Metal
Erfahrung in einer Power-Metal-Band ist nicht zwingend notwendig, aber echtes Interesse an diesem Genre ist wichtig.
90er-/frühe-2000er-Kultur und Retro-Game-Musik
Wenn du Retro-Game-Musik, besonders aus der SNES-, NES- oder Game-Boy-Ära, sowie die Kultur der 90er- und frühen 2000er magst, wäre das sehr willkommen. Es ist aber keine Voraussetzung.
Zukünftige Live-Shows / Touren in Europa
Für zukünftige Konzerte und Touren ist Europa als Hauptbasis geplant. Ein Wohnsitz in Europa wäre ideal, aber Sänger/innen aus anderen Regionen sind ebenfalls willkommen, solange Reisen nach Europa für zukünftige Shows realistisch möglich sind.
Wir freuen uns außerdem auch über Nachrichten von Drummern, die Interesse an Spielfreude für zukünftige Live-Shows und Touren haben. Die Suche nach einem Drummer ist aktuell nicht so dringend wie die Suche nach der richtigen Stimme, aber wir möchten frühzeitig mit passenden Leuten in Kontakt kommen.
