About
I'm Miko Suchanek, a pianist, composer, and arranger from Poznań (born 1995). I currently teach classical and jazz piano at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden and the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. Musically, I move between classical, jazz, pop, funk, and soul. Alongside my classical training, I love groove, improvisation, and modern sounds—whether on stage, in the studio, or at jam sessions. I'm a co-founder of the funk and soul band Mango Tango, with whom I released our debut EP, "Funk Like Your Grandma," in 2024. I also play in the Mikołaj Suchanek Trio and the Karoline Weidt Quartet, among other ensembles. I am a three-time winner of the Blue Note Poznań Competition (2018, 2019, 2021), a two-time winner of the Young Munich Jazz Prize (2019, 2021), and winner of the #Jazzlab Award at the St. Moritz Da Jazz Festival 2021. My album "A Bleak November Day" was released in 2022. I am looking for exciting gigs and projects in Germany – solo, as a duo, trio, or as part of a band. From classical piano music to jazz, pop, soul, and funk: I am open to new formats, new cities, and new musical encounters. The most important thing is that the music is alive.

Get to know

Music is my mother tongue, through which I can express everything.

Now I'm shooting myself in the foot: electric guitar. Because Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, or Eric Clapton could say so much with it.

Taking my projects to the big stages 😉

I enjoy going for walks in the forest, sometimes with a camera, sometimes without.
