R. Sperlich Studio musician

Guitarist, musician, songwriter, producer, podcaster, guitar tech, DIY enthusiast. Open to: new projects, songwriting, studio, live or session. The musician, songwriter and producer Roland Sperlich, born in Zell am See/Austria, gained his first musical experience with the violin at the Salzburg Music School. Without being able to read music or understand music theory, he learned these purely by ear. A passion for rock and metal music was discovered early on and at the age of 11 he moved to the music city of Mannheim/Germany. Between indie, metal and punk, he grew up in a creative and musical environment. Over time he taught himself electric bass, electric guitar and electric guitar as well as other instruments and musical skills. This was followed by the first projects as a musician and songwriter and the first stage experiences were collected. With his death metal band "Whitehall Massacre" he played as a support act at the CD release party of the band Spheron in 2011, together with the German death metal great Deadborn and in 2012 at the Sultans of Death Festival in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. In the meantime he has also been able to gain experience as an organizer and booker and has constantly broadened his musical horizon. Since April 2021 he has been producing and moderating the Moodburger podcast together with his long-time companion Philipp R., in which the two of them work through their everyday experiences and talk about their emotional world. In DIY fashion, a classic chatter podcast meets comedy with a pinch of seriousness. While he was in quarantine in 2022 as a result of his Covid-19 illness, he launched an instrumental black metal solo project called DÆMMERUNG. An EP with 5 songs was self-produced and recorded within 11 days. All logos and graphics as well as the texts also come from the hand of the musician. The EP MMXXII will be released on February 24th, 2023 on all common streaming platforms. With 17 years of songwriting, session and stage experience, he can create a harmonious sound with almost any equipment and always stage his instruments appropriately. He feels just as comfortable in the studio and during sessions as he does on stage, he sees himself as an entertainer and captivates the audience with his performance.
