Tyron Kretzschmar Conductor

Tyron Kretzschmar, born in 2000, is an aspiring organist and church musician from Augsburg who studied church music at the University of Music in Würzburg with Prof. Dr. hc Christoph Bossert is studying.

At the age of 9 he took piano lessons for the first time. At the age of 13 he was introduced to playing the organ. A year later he was accepted into the Diocese of Augsburg's support program for young organists and received lessons from Peter Bader, the church music director of the Basilica of St. Ulrich and Afra in Augsburg.

Since then, Tyron Kretzschmar has regularly played concerts and trade fairs in Germany and abroad. This is also the case in the concert series “Faszination Organ – Young Virtuosi” and “30 Minutes of Music in the Ulrichskirchen” at the Basilica of St. Ulrich and Afra as well as in the “Key Games” concert series at the Augustinian Church in Würzburg and the Bach Days in Würzburg.

From 2015 to 2020, Tyron Kretzschmar held the position of organist at Kath. Heilig Kreuz in downtown Augsburg. From 2020 to 2022 he worked as a church musician in the St. Johannis Church in Würzburg. He was able to gain a wide range of experience in the field of ensemble music. As a choir director, he has already worked with a variety of ensembles, including the Würzburg Bach Choir. But musical direction at musical events is also part of his career. He completed a “voluntary social year” in theater education at the Mainfranken-Theater Würzburg. Tyron Kretzschmar has been a scholarship holder at TONALi in Hamburg since 2023.
