Alternative surf rock band is looking for bassist in HH band

Aloha Friends of string swinging,

we are the band highcoast :

“ highcoast's songs are about longing, drunken parties, never-ending road trips and the most beautiful beaches in the world. Translated into energetic songs with a dirty vintage sound, but with a steady laid-back attitude. A harmonious mix of roughness and sweetness that brings summer and good vibes to every stage.”

We have released a few EPs since 2016, rounded off by our first vinyl release last year. Over time we have played many national and international shows (UK tours before the pandemic) in clubs (in the hallowed halls of Molotow, Hafenklang etc.) and at festivals (c/o Pop etc.). With a bit of luck, we ended up in larger Spotify playlists and have had stable listener numbers and around 500k streams since then. Okay, enough unsympathetic whining. We are currently in the process of restructuring, with a new drummer we are now looking for further reinforcement on the bass who not only hits the low notes, but is also ready to ride our wave of musicality. Then the three of us would be complete, but oh well, an additional guitarist could also fit.

Ideally, you should have studio and live experience, be able to sing a bit of uhh-uhhus and shalalala harmonies (the bar for our music isn't particularly high), have the desire and time for a serious band project and be committed. By the way, we can't surf very well ourselves and our band, which is labeled as surf rock, sometimes leans more towards alternative garage rock with stoner, punk and psychedelic influences. A certain inclination towards the sweet details of surf music and lifestyle would still be nice.

We meet 1-2 times a week virtually or in the rehearsal room with our own backline and in-ear system. The meetings consist not only of rehearsals but also a lot of songwriting, networking, demoing and planning (video + photo shoots) and also sometimes from bad jokes. That's why it wouldn't be a big deal if you don't come directly from HH and can't always be there in person.

We want to tour with highcoast, keep releasing songs and see how far the journey can go without becoming tense and taking ourselves too seriously. The vibe and interpersonal relationships are super important to us, and above all, the band should be fun!
