Hi everyone :) We, Mediocracy, are currently a four-piece band, but unfortunately our drummer is moving to another country, so we're reluctantly looking for a new member. Here are a few key points about our band: - We're basically a metal band with many different influences, and our tastes are quite diverse. We can't really give a precise genre label because we're not entirely sure ourselves (but we have tons of material to show you). - We're between 24 and 40 years old. - Rehearsal space in Vienna; drums are provided, you'd just need to bring your (double) bass. - All rehearsals are recorded. - We write our own songs, and we currently have six finished songs with a seventh in the works. - We've recorded and roughly mixed two songs; mastering is still pending. - Four band members: Florian: guitar and backing vocals, Christoph: guitar, Alex: vocals and piano, and our drummer. - The guitars are 7-strings tuned to Drop F, meaning they are tuned very low. The following points are important to us as a band, and you can expect the same from us: - A very relaxed rehearsal culture and a very humane approach to mistakes. - We generally have a lot of fun playing together, but we still have a goal in mind and a certain amount of ambition (but of course, all in moderation). - It's very important to us that all band members are fully involved in the songwriting process (if they want to be). In detail, this means that any input you provide will be mentioned and taken seriously. Our philosophy is that riffs should serve the song (and not the ego). So, for some parts, we might have to vote on them XD, but we see any discussion and input as something positive. - We've played our first gigs and want to get back to performing soon. What we'd like: - Double bass would be great, and we'd love some blast beats :) - Commitment to the band and the songs. - That you're open to different genres :) - Any additional musical skills are very welcome and will gladly be integrated into the songs in some way. - Feedback and the ability to offer constructive criticism regarding songwriting. - Of course, we'd also like to do things with you outside the rehearsal room from time to time ;D. Finally, there is a small band rental fee, but it's really minimal.
