About
During my engineering studies, I started playing the tenor saxophone, initially just for a birthday serenade. Three years of lessons gave me the basics, and I discovered everything else autodidactically. Playing in beginner and advanced bands provided practical experience, and later I played in a funk band in Cologne and founded Salsa Caliente in Aachen. I added the flute and trumpet to my repertoire – I didn't quite reach the level of a top-tier salsa stratospheric trumpet, but I was good enough for big bands and wind orchestras. The d-son project was particularly formative, turning me into a polyrhythm specialist. I transcribed songs and horn arrangements, developed an arranger's eye, and gained experience as a bandleader. With a baby bass I acquired during the pandemic, I now also play salsa with professionals – the ultimate experience for me. I work analytically, but I forget everything when I'm playing. Gigs are essential, as is continuous development. I inspire people, work with all levels and age groups on an equal footing – and always very harmoniously.
