Hello, I'm Nick Sr.
If I've had too much to drink, I'll grab the guitar in a very amateurish way and sing along with it in a rather weird way.
That's probably only because, at 42, I feel really stupid with a tennis racket in front of the mirror...?!
So it's enough to make me feel like a rock star and piss off my family.
1.5 years ago our son Nick Jr. died just 371 minutes after his birth.
His little grave is only a 5 minute walk from our house and I spend the last few minutes of the day there every evening.
There I also started to write lyrics and to accompany them on the guitar. Sure, they deal with the themes of death, transience, love, pain, grief, despair and whiskey. ...and just stop the misery of the world.
Partly very personal and partly very generally morbid.
The whole thing goes in the direction of "Dark Country" in the style of "Heavy Horses", "Graveyardtrain", "The devil makes three"...
After tinkering a bit and not finding it that bad, I thought that something was still missing. I came up with a cello.
A dear friend also accompanied me at first and it was wonderful! Unfortunately, the whole project was a bit more serious for me (which is also completely understandable and why I'm not angry or disappointed at all) and she said that she sees her musical homeland in other styles.
So, now I'm looking for a cellist who can imagine getting involved in making some music with a bloody but ambitious beginner and helping him to realize his dream of his own small CD. (Studio would almost be clear)
But if someone plays a lower-tuned triangle and thinks that might also work - I'm open to all outrages!
Financially there will be nothing to get, but also nothing to invest. Well, fame and honor are not to be scoffed at either - but don't pay rent!
If Tops of the Pops finds us, we'll do 50/50 - but I wouldn't count on it...
Since the project is quite personal, the basis should also fit. (The great philosopher Bernd Stromberg would say "the human...") I like to practice with a bottle of beer in my arm (which is not obligatory), I'm enthusiastic about punk, metal, dark country, rock and roll.
The result could be a mix of Hank Williams Sr. & Nick Cave
I've got some horrendously cell phone recorded files here if anyone is interested but wants to hear what's roughly in store for them first...
I look forward to all inquiries, no matter how absurd!
Thank you very much for your attention
.
