About
A long time ago, I played electric bass in a band and performed as a bassist with them and also as part of a school project. After several decades of ups and downs, I honed my timbre, initially without focusing on vocals, and eventually explored the possibility of becoming a lead singer while playing bass. However, a leg ailment, which is finally subsiding, and the difficulty of juggling both as a late-blooming singer and returning bassist, have reinforced my decision to only occasionally fill in on bass and to only add a second guitar, played by our regular bassist, for those songs. I'm currently taking singing lessons to improve my technique and, above all, to expand the range of my chest voice. I've practiced violin, guitar, bass, and keyboard only sporadically for decades, and that will likely remain the case. If I had to play anything, it would be bass; it's what I'm most comfortable with. Gradually, I developed the courage to put myself out there as a singer, practicing at the bus stop and even belting out songs on the moving bus, performing in front of an audience, displaying some stage presence (i.e., moving around a bit and using gestures to emphasize selected lyrics), and even getting a bloody nose now and then. As a singer, I've now had a performance at work and an audition in front of a live audience, mostly surrounded by clearly superior competitors. My voice is very raspy, similar to Sandra Urbanek's, but deeper and with a slightly different timbre, smoky in the higher register like Janet Gardner, and also fuzzy with a Nena-like cool undertone. The lowest register then clearly drifts towards Lisa Paus's (former Federal Minister).

In my first decade of life, I took music and everything else my parents offered (turning on the radio, playing records, making dinner, redecorating the nursery, etc.) for granted. At ten and a half, my stepbrother got me hooked on Boney M. My musical tastes have changed a few more times, but for a long time now, they've focused on hard rock and its "neighboring" genres. Music is the most attractive art form to me, and I've played in a band and participated in school music projects. Today, I sing most of my tracklist (about 15 songs) several times a day.

Reading, especially about music ;) I've also been very interested in technical and scientific topics since I was a child, sometimes electronics, sometimes space travel, but sometimes mainly my musical activities.

I do this as a hobby, but I can also imagine a semi-professional career in the medium term.
